The Baby of the Batch
The Charlotte School of Law could well be the one of the youngest, if not the youngest, law school in the United States. That’s because InfiLaw Corporation, which runs three other schools, just started the Charlotte School of Law in year 2006. (1) The Charlotte School of Law is so named because it is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. To keep the law school up and running, InfiLaw Corporation maintains close contacts with the North Carolina Bar Association and the Mecklenburg Country Bar Association. (1)
Struggling In A Field Of Giants
Will the Charlotte School of Law be able to survive in the midst of intense competition in the field of trial education, which is even fortified by the proliferation of law school rankings just like what the US News does? Of course, survival might well be, and must be, what the Charlotte School of Law (otherwise known as Charlotte Law) strives for, most especially because it is a school that’s being run for income. (1) This might actually be what the InfiLaw Corporation has in mind when it drafted their core concepts to a Charlotte Law experience. (2) These core concepts pertain to the following:
* The Charlotte School of Law’s Curriculum- which places the emphasis on honing the students to face the challenges of the “real world.” To accomplish this, the administrators of Charlotte Law developed programs that encourage the application of juridical theories and laws into analysis, as well as into their personal and professional lives.
* The Drive For Student Empowerment- Charlotte Law claims to have a staff that is united towards the goal of student development. Student development includes, but is not limited to, developing a passion for their studies, making use of the options that the school and its connections has to offer, and ensuring their success in the field.
* The Foresight- the perpetrators of the Charlotte School of Law upholds their belief that their graduates should be “lights of the world” for the near future. With this global vision, Charlotte Law basically aims to reach out to students with more varied cultural backgrounds that makes for a diverse student population.
Not Yet ABA-Accredited
The Charlotte School of the Law, since it’s still fresh in the industry, is yet to receive accreditation from the American Bar Association (ABA). (3) In spite of, the law school does already have an approved license from the Board of Governors of North Carolina. (3)
