The legislature then passed a Senate Bill that established a university called Texas State University for Negroes, which is now called as Texas Southern University. (1)

Thurgood Marshall School of Law is the law school of Texas Southern University. It seeks out students from different backgrounds and aims to help them succeed in the legal field. The choosing of candidates is done by assessing the students' intellectual ability as based from their undergraduate GPAs and LSAT scores. However, these are not the only basis for admission.
